Chicagoland

Chicagoland is an informal name for the larger Chicago metropolitan area. It has no official definition, but Colonel Robert R. McCormick, editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune, usually gets credit for placing the term in common use. His idea of Chicagoland starts in northeastern Illinois and stretches to parts of Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa.
