The Chicago Whales were a pro baseball team based in Chicago along with the Cubs and White Sox. The Whales played in the Federal League in 1914 and 1915, which was a short-lived 3rd Major League. The team originally lacked a formal nickname, and were known simply as the Chicago Federals.
