The Effigies were one of the first true punk bands from Chicago, and were a main-stay of the early scene. They played their first show in 1980 and was active initially for approximately a decade, undergoing multiple personnel changes with frontman John Kezdy the only constant, before disbanding in 1990. They have reunited several times since, and have recently done so again following the untimely death of John Kezdy.
